Electronic instrumentation

As a teaching assistant, I have been involved in a 6 month electronics course with weekly 4-hour practical sessions. Students are taught to build electronic setups and perform theoretical derivations. My participation involved teaching the students, converting the course from Matlab to Python and creating teaching material (also during the pandemic).

Fourier transform for data acquisition

In the classroom, students discover that we are often interested in the frequencies that compose a signal. They have to write a python function to calculate the discrete Fourier transform of measured signals. It was my task to write the exercise sheet and support students in class. Have a look here at an example page.

Aliasing visually explained

In data acquisition, aliasing is a phenomenon that occurs in sampling any periodic signal. To help students understand this concept, I created a visual explanation in Python. Students can adjust the signal frequency and sampling rate and follow the effects in time domain and frequency domain. Currently, I am integrating this with my website, so that it is possible to engage with the tool right here.
